Day 0

We closed on our new house yesterday. Quite frankly, it was the best closing I have ever been involved with. In fact, the whole buying process was quite painless. You may notice on the left side of the house the new lawn planted. That's where the sellers put in a new septic system. Check, that project is done and we didn't have to lay out a dime. Right after the closing, we grabbed some lunch and got working right away. The first big project: lifting the carpet in the dining room and formal living room so the floors can be refinished.

Lifting the carpet was the easy part. It's those darn staples that hold down the padding that kill you. Each one had to be lifted with a screwdriver and pliers. We got about half done by Nine o'Clock that night and gave up.
