Surprisingly, the mallard ducks are still coming to our pond. Two or three days a week, we will spot the pair swimming on the pond.
On these cold mornings, the edges of the pond freeze and the ducks are limited to the middle section.
When I see the ducks, I make sure to throw out some corn as I leave for work. When I near the edge of the water, the ducks back away. As soon as I turn to leave, they race over to eat.
When I walk Coop and Otis, the ducks see me and swim to the edge of the pond. It is obvious that they are hoping for an afternoon snack.
